Golf Promotion Ideas For Your Next Golf Event!

Looking to hold a golf promotion that Hole In One International won’t insure?  No worries — our sister company, Odds On Promotions, is here to help!  Wanting to insure an off-course putting promotion or a golf ball drop?  Whatever the case may be, Odds On can help!  Let’s take a look at a few golf contests, what they entail and how they can benefit your company/organization:

Golf Ball Drop
Nothing screams ‘excitement’ like watching hundreds of golf balls, tennis balls or even ping-pong balls being dropped from a helicopter! Insuring a helicopter golf ball drop is not only as easy as 1-2-3, but also extremely affordable! Ideal for selling sponsorships and generating fundraising dollars, charge your golf tournament participants a specific dollar amount to buy a uniquely numbered ball (or offer discounted prices if they buy multiple!).  Drop them from a helicopter onto a target area — if one of the balls falling closest to the target appears on a list of preselected ball numbers, Odds On will pay for the grand prize!  Not sure how to go about obtaining usage of a helicopter?  Consider teaming up with your local radio/TV station for publicity and borrowing their traffic helicopter in the process!  Or, get creative and use a hot air balloon or cherry-picker.

Off-course Putting Contest
Turn your next convention and/or awards banquet, tradeshow, or company function into a grand prize-winning event with a putting contest!  Select one participant at random (we suggest holding a raffle if you’re looking to fundraise; however, you can narrow down your participants in any fashion you’d like) and bring them back during or after your event to take a single 50 ft. or longer putt for the dough!  For more fun, have your contestant attempt a 3-putt combination!  If the contestant successfully sinks the insured putt(s), Odds On will pay out the specified prize amount!  In need of additional advertising materials?  Odds On offers custom target templates, which feature the insured prize amount, description of the prize to be won and the sponsor’s name/logo! Need a putting ramp for your event?  Odds On has you covered for those too!

A Unique Hole In One Contest…
Surely you’re thinking that a hole-in-one contest can only occur at a golf course: well,  guess again!  Odds On has insured hole in one promotions at a variety of places.  Whether you want to try and score an ace from the top of a building, the balcony of a nearby condo, the top of your retail location or even from a plane or helicopter… again, we’ve got you covered!  The more unique the promotion, the more attention it will gain… so if you’re looking to stand out from the crowd, keep Odds On Promotions in mind!  We can help you come up with a custom-tailored hole in one promotion that’s sure to knock the socks off of your competition.

Goodie Bag Item Ideas For Your Tournament Participants!

Stumped on what to include in your goodie bags this year?  Here are some great ideas from Hole In One International that your golf tournament participants are sure to love!

1. Company Golf T-shirt
Have any sponsors at your golf outing?  Ask them to donate t-shirts in a variety of sizes with their logo on them!  This item idea is a win-win situation, especially for small, local sponsors: not only will your golfers enjoy their free article of clothing, but the sponsors will have a chance to advertise thanks to your outing participants… and chances are that your outing participants will be more than willing to help spread awareness of their company/brand!

2. Sleeve of Golf Balls
How many balls do you think go lost, abandoned or end up landing in the water after each round of golf is played?  The answer? A lot.  In the United States alone, an estimated at 300 million golf balls are lost each year.  Which is why it’s never a bad idea to have more on-hand!  Feel free to customize those golf balls with your outing’s logo, or even a sponsor’s!

3. Snacks!
Don’t let your players go famished during the tournament… supply them with some snacks to take with them on-the-go!  Nuts, bananas, fruit bars… anything to give them a little extra boost of energy throughout the day!

4. Club Head Covers
While the t-shirt and golf balls are pretty “par for the course”, certain unique items such a club head covers are a great way to help make your goodie bag stand out from all the others!  Club head covers are cost-effective, practical and can also be customized as well!

5. Gift Certificate to the 19th Hole
Now here’s one everyone will love: a gift certificate to the golf course’s “19th Hole!”  After the tournament, players will be able to meet up with their buddies for some grub and/or drinks… on the house, thanks to your thoughtful gift idea!  This one’s sure to be a big hit!

And don’t forget: when you purchase a hole in one, shootout and/or combination putting contest insurance policy from Hole In One International, we will include a free tee prize for each and every golfer in your event!  That’s right — each and every one of your golfers will receive a FREE $50 gift card to FreeTeePrize.com, where they can choose from a vast variety of golf clubs!

Club Pros In Your Golf Tournament

Have any Club Professionals participating in your upcoming golf outing?  Great news!  If you’re insuring a hole-in-one contest, Million Dollar Shoot-out, or putting contest, you don’t have to exclude them from participating and/or possibly winning the insured prize that’s at stake!

That’s right: Hole In One International will happily insure any/all Club Professionals in your event!  Sure, they’re a little more costly to insure (3x the price of 1 amateur golfer, to be exact) given their skill level; however, when you take the odds into consideration, it makes perfect sense.

Did you know that the odds of an amateur golfer making a hole-in-one are roughly 13,600 to 1, while for professional golfers, those odds are lessened all the way down to 2,500 to 1!

Give your Club Professionals (and even Tournament Professionals!) a chance to win big with a single swing (or putt), compliments of Hole In One International… call us today at 800-827-2249 for a free, no-obligation quote and/or more information!  You can also email us at any time or even go online and obtain a quote, as well as bind your coverage!

Best of luck with your golf tournament this year!

Properly Advertising Your Golf Tournament – Part 2/2

Welcome to part 2 of “Properly Advertising Your Golf Tournament.”  If you didn’t read part 1 earlier this week, make sure to do so before continuing on.

4.)  Sending Out Invitations
It may not seem like it, but something as simple as sending out invitations can be a great way to advertise.  Make sure to personalize them and have them look professional.  Once you’ve fine-tuned the details of your golf tournament, you can then begin sending out those invitations!  You’ll be pleasantly surprised to see how many interested individuals contact you!  Be sure to have multiple methods of contact on your invitation — phone number, email, fax, etc.  Not everyone uses the same one, after all.

5.)  Give Your Sponsors Maximum Exposure
Make sure to properly advertise not only for yourself and your outing, but for your sponsors as well! Purchase sponsor signs featuring the sponsor’s logo (plain text can also be used) and whatever you do, make sure you know where to place the signage to give your sponsors the recognition out on the golf course that they deserve!

6.)  Discounts & Special Offers
Give your players an incentive for registering for your golf tournament prior to the cut-off date by offering a discount on the price of their foursome if they submit payment prior to it.  After the tournament, give players a similar incentive for registering for next year’s tournament on the spot!  And last, but definitely not least, don’t forget to announce if you’re going to be holding any sort of golf contests during your outing – especially ones that involve big prizes, such as a hole in one, Million Dollar Shootout or putting contest!

If you have any additional questions about advertising your golf tournament, or if you’re interested in insuring a hole-in-one or putting contest during your outing, please give us a call today at 800-827-2249.  All of our contest consultants would be happy to help you out!  You can also email Hole In One International as well, if you’d prefer.
