120-Foot Putting Contest Winner Scores $100K

Inver Grove Heighs, Minn – You know the old adage ‘drive show, putt for dough’, right? Well, for putting contest winner Paul Shadle, a pilot from Rosemount, nailing not one, but 3 impressive putts landed him a South Bay pontoon boat (valued at approximately $75,000) courtesy of Nelson Marine, plus $25K in cash, to assist with taxes, during the 2018 Venture Bank Minnesota Golf Show.

The $100K Pontoon Putt, a fixture of the Minnesota Golf show, is not only a popular part of the show, it’s a fundraiser for First Tee. To qualify as a potential finalist for the Pontoon Putt Contest, attendees needed to first stop by the 1500 ESPN Tent during the first two and half days of the show and make a $5 donation for three chances to make a qualifying putt. Then, on Sunday, all the qualifiers returned for a “putt off”, to further narrow the field.

Shadle successfully holed his second putt on the initial qualifier, going on to win Sunday’s putt off, making him this year’s lucky finalist who got the chance to make a 120-foot putt for the grand prize.

And what it putt it was! Shadle’s winning shot was not only covered by the local media and CBS Sports, he was featured on the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive. What’s more, the big prize putt contest raised $4K for First Tee.

Hole In One Contest Leads to $110K

hole in one coverage winnerSioux Falls, S.D. – Congratulations are in order for hole in one contest winners Mike Ness and Jeremy Cauwels of Sioux Falls, who each made a hole-in-one during the First Dakota National Bank’s 2017 Pro-Am Jam winning a combined total of $110,000 in cash, paid for by Hole In One International.

Cauwels, who won $10K for making his second hole in one, aced the 150-yard, 17 hole with a seven iron on the first day of the tournament, which took place at the Country Club of Sioux Falls. While Ness, who is not only made his very first hole in one on the 135-yard Hole 12 with a 9-iron took home the staggering $100,000 prize.

And even more surprising than the fact the tournament had two hole-in-one winners is that Ness is also the President of First Dakota National Bank, the event’s title sponsor. Watch his reaction.

Hole In One Insurance Winner - Bob DevanGlenwood Springs, Colo. – Congratulations to hole in one insurance winner Bob Devan of Basalt who not only registered his third hole in one, but also drove home the winner of a brand new Subaru, courtesy of Glenwood Springs Subaru, and paid for by Hole In One International during the 14th annual Vince Gill and Amy Grant Anniversary Gala and Golf Classic.

Devan won the new car, a 2017 Subaru Outback Limited valued at just over $35,800, after he aced the 158-yard 17th hole at the Snowmass Club with a three wood and brand new golf ball last August.

The two-day event raised over $110,000 this year for Challenge Aspen, a non-profit organization located in Snowmass Village, whose mission is “Making possibilities for people with disabilities.”

Indianapolis, Ind. – Congratulations to our latest single putt winner, Don Hughett, who recently won $25,000 in a putting contest, courtesy of Barrett and Associates, and paid for by Hole In One International.

Hughett won the big-cash prize after he holed a 50-footer on the 18th green at Dye’s Walk during the 17th annual Nathan’s Battle Fundraising Golf Tournament. Hughett and two other finalists successfully completed two qualifying putts, one at the turn, and a second one after the event, before the final big-prize putt that landed him the big bucks.

Hole In One Insurance Pays Porsche Lease

Hole In One Insurance Winner - DeKeyserTraverse City, Mich. – There’s no question about it, having hole in one insurance pays big dividends during any golf event, especially tournaments featuring professional athletes like hockey players.

For example, congratulations go out to Hole In One International’s latest winner, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Danny DeKeyser. DeKeyser recently won a 2-year lease on a 2018 Porsche Boxster, valued at nearly $37,000, courtesy of Porsche of Motor City, and paid for by Hole In One International.

DeKeyser won the 2-year lease after he aced the par 3 155-yard 17th hole on The Bear Course at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, during the team’s 19th Annual Detroit Red Wings Training Camp Classic.

According to DeKeyser, who describes himself as an “OK golfer”, he was aiming directly at the stick and thought he had a pretty good shot. Turns out the ball landed about 12 feet behind the hole and started spinning back towards the cup. This was DeKeyser’s first hole in one. As luck would have it, this was not DeKeyser’s only winning shot of the day. He also took home a brand-new driver after he won a long-drive competition.
