Planning Your Company Golf Outing

In a panic because you’ve just learned that you’re in charge of the company golf outing?   Looking for some tips on how to ttake your current outing from drab to fab?  Good news!  Kristen Hansen, Social Media Marketing Assistant with Hole In One International, is here today to help you out with some great pointers!

Name Your Outing
This may seem like a no-brainer but  it’s important!  Give your outing an enticing, yet simple and repeatable name.  For example, rather than using a generic name like “Hole In One International Golf Outing”, try adding a few attention-grabbing words (i.e. Hole In One International’s Whole Office Tee Off )  Already have a name for your outing you’ve been using previous years?  No problem!  It’s never too late to change it up!  This is your tournament, after all.

Find Your Players & Sponsors
You and your golf planning committee should be able to target potential players and sponsors with ease. You can invite employees, clients, and vendors. You can assigne your sales team to identify their own foursomes. Whatever is best for your … as long as you have a  game plan on who you plan on inviting.  Tip: Be sure to have someone from your committee build a website for your golf outing where players and sponsors can register/pay online!  Not only is having a website great for advertising purposes, but it makes receiving your funds as easy as 1-2-3!  And be sure to offer your sponsors their own  sponsor signs so they’ll get their recognition out on the golf course!

Scope Out Your Venue
Another important step to planning any golf outing is researching the golf course/golf club where you’ll be holding your event. Make sure the course can accomodate the number of players you plan on having that day, make sure the greens are maintained to your satisfaction and always be sure to consult with your committee before making any final decisions.

Make Your Event Appealing
You need to stand out!  Consider using a celebrity or local business leader as your event Chairperson, which will give your event instant credibility.  Offer a large amount of sponsorships and load them with value.  Also be sure that you’re offering fun and exciting golf contests to your event — the hole in one contest is arguably the most popular, but you could also hold a longest/straightest drive or closest to the hole contest as well.  The possibilities are endless!  Add pre-, on-course and after-event games to maximize interest.

Two Aces More Common Than You May Think!

We know what you’re probably thinking: “Two aces during the same round of golf?  What are the odds on that? There’s no way that could happen!”  But according to these stories that come to us from The Northern Advocate, USA Today, Sky Sports and North Fulton, it does… and frequently, at that!

In fact, you’ll notice that not only did these individuals manage to make two hole in ones during the same round, but all of them happened this year… and 2012 has only just begun!  Suddenly those 1 in 67 million odds don’t seem so far-fetched, do they?

The aforementioned stories are a prime example of why choosing the right hole in one insurance coverage makes all the difference!

“Why choose Hole In One International versus the other hole in one insurance coverage companies out there?”

We’re glad you asked! When you choose to insure your event with Hole In One International,  for as little as $150, each and every player at your event has a chance to win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes … But,  unlike many other hole in one coverage companies, Hole In One International pays for multiple hole in ones.  That’s right: that minimum $150 premium doesn’t cover just the first hole in one that’s made — it covers each and every one made by any/all of your tournament players.  Plus, you have the added peace of mind of working with a hole in one insurance coverage company that is underwritten by an A-rated insurance company (Praetorian).

It doesn’t get any better than that!

Want to make sure that any lucky player making double aces during your tournament takes home a prize – or that everyone who makes an hole in one will get a prize winner this season?  Then give Hole In One International a call at 800-827-2249 to speak with one of our experienced contest consultants or email us for further information on how to get started!

3 Key Requirements for Successful Hole In One Contest Coverage

You’ve already gotten your golf tournament hole in one quote from us, so what’s next?  Here’s the 3 key requirements you need to meet in order for your hole in one contest coverage to be valid.

  • First, you’ll need to make payment prior to the date of your event!  Hole In One International accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express or check.  Checks mailed through the U.S. Post Office need to be postmarked at least one day prior to your event; we will not accept checks that are postmarked the day of your tournament or later.
  • Next, you must provide a witness (or witnesses, depending on your prize), over the age of 21 years of age, who is not participating in the tournament.  You will need  to adjust the number and kind of witnesses, depending on the value of the prize you’re insuring for, as we covered a few weeks back in this blog post on witness requirements.
  • Finally, the yardage must be measured from the actual hitting area on the tee box to the hole cut in on the green and cannot be lower than the yardage you put on your hole in one application.  (Remember: we only accept holes with a minimum yardage of 135!)

The Hole In One Contest

The Hole In One Contest
A hole in one contest is by far the most popular charity golf tournament contest.  Held on a par three, a hole in one contest rewards anyone making a hole-in-one with a prize. Hole in one prizes can be anything from big screen televisions or sets of clubs to new automobiles or a substantial cash prizes.

While some charity golf tournament organizers have local businesses donate prizes, if you want your event to stand out, insuring a spectacular, attention-grabbing prize with a hole in one insurance company, such as Hole In One International, has multiple benefits. Not only will the big prize – such as the chance to win $10,000, $100,000 or even $1,000,000, attract attention, you can raise additional money by selling a hole-in-one sponsorship package.
