Man Enters Putting Zone, Exits $10,000 Richer

Hole In One International

Des Moines, Iowa Putting contest winner Joe Schmit has a pretty decent short game. How decent? Schmidt recently sank two incredible qualifying putts before draining a 50-footer worth $10,000 during the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Iowa Foundation’s Dick Sojka Memorial Golf Tournament.

As part of their annual golf outing, the AGC offers a $10,000 putting contest. To participate in the big prize putting contest, golfers buy in for $10 for a chance to enter the “Putting Zone” where the goal is to putt through a path of orange construction cones, placed on the green, without going outside the cones. Whoever makes it through the “Work Zone” getting closest to the pin, gets a chance to make a 50-foot putt for the $10,000 prize, which is split 50/50 between the winner and the AGC Foundation.

According to Ricke Weldon, Field Service Director for the AGC, “I must have made it too easy this year, because we had four qualifiers and had to have a putt-off. Joe won the putt-off. And then he drained the 50-footer. He was three for three. It was just unbelievable.” In the past 19 years, the AGC of Iowa Foundation has raised over $500,000 to provide scholarships to construction education students enrolled in accredited programs thus maintaining a quality workforce.

“Hole In One International is great to work with. I go online, get a quote, and in a few minutes everything is done. A few years ago we had a guy win a $500 Visa Card. Now we had this winner. Hole In One International is responsive to customers and offers very good value,” noted Weldon.

What It Sounds Like When You Sink A 50-Foot Putt… and win $10,000

Central Point, Ore. — Have you ever wondered what it would sound like if you nailed a 50-foot putt in front of a crowd of golfers?

Dominic Rosacci knows. He recently sank one during the 2nd Annual Guru Open at Eagle Point Golf Club, winning himself $10,000, courtesy of the tournament sponsor Guru Ink, and paid for by Hole In One International.

The Guru Open featured two $10,000 putting contests. The first was a 3-putt combination contest which was open to all tournament players. The second, which Rosacci won, was a single-putt contest for two lucky finalists whose names were drawn via raffle.

According to Rosacci, who was using a borrowed putter, “I thought, ‘No way this is going to happen.'”

“With all the pressure, I thought I was going to chunk it into the ground and the ball would go about 3 feet. I was pretty shocked at how it played out,” continued Rosacci.

The Guru Open, which is organized by Guru Ink in Medford, raised $10,000 for Kids Unlimited.

Putting Contest Winner Matt Norby Holes $3,000

Congratulations to our latest putting contest insurance winner, Matt Norby!

Grand Forks, N.D. – This June during a putting contest at Edgewood Management Group’s 2nd Annual Longest Day Golf Tournament, Matt Norby of Grand Forks won an 8-day/7-night Hawaiian vacation, valued at $3,000, courtesy of Edgewood Management Group, and paid for by Hole In One International.

Norby won the prize after he holed an impressive 50-foot putt during a fundraising putting contest which took place on 9th hole at the Kings Walk Golf Course, immediately following the tournament.

To participate in the fuIM-Putting-NorbyMatt-H358121ndraiser, golfers made a donation and took a qualifying shot on the practice green. Those who successfully made the initial 25-foot qualifying putt took their best shot at a 50-foot putt. After getting closest to the hole in those semi-finals, Norby got the chance to take another 50-footer on the 9th hole, this time nailing the shot, winning the Hawaii vacation for two.

But winning the tropical trip wasn’t the only surprise of the day. Turns out Norby had bet that if made the putt, he’d take a little swim.  Check out the prize winning putt – and Norby’s celebration dip.

According to Hollie Britten, Corporate Sales and Marketing Manager with Edgewood Management Group, the morning-to-evening “Longest Day” event, recognizes those who live with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.

“This event is about educational outreach as well as raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association. We hold an awareness walk – a quick 1 mile, followed by a community breakfast. The golf tournament begins mid-morning with the putting contest qualifying taking place all day on the putting green. Then, after the tournament we had the putting contest finals, followed by awards and a live band on the deck at the golf course,” explained Britten.

“Working with Hole In One International was very easy – very smooth. But of course the best part was getting to walk across the street to Matt’s office and hand him that vacation voucher. That was fantastic,” continued Britten.

We thought that was pretty fantastic too! Looking for an affordable way to support a great cause in your community? Check out more ideas or give Hole In One International a call today at 800-827-2249.

Edgewood Management Group owns and/or operates 53 independent living, assisted living and memory care communities in seven states. The organization raised an impressive $27,000 during their Longest Day events with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Putting Contest Winner Receives $10,000 in Combination Putting Contest

putting contest - winnerWickatunk, N.J. – Congratulations to Shane Boyce of Freehold who recently won $10,000, courtesy of Collier Youth Services, and paid for by Hole In One International.

Boyce won the $10,000 prize during a combination putting contest, which took place on the Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club practice green at the turn during the 18th annual Collier Golf Classic.

To participate, players donated $20 each, or paid $60 per foursome, receiving a sleeve of balls and a shot at the big bucks. All contestants then got the chance to make a 10-foot putt. If they holed the 10-footer, they were entered into a bonus prize drawing for a golf bag and moved on to make a 30-foot putt. If they successfully holed the 30-footer, they would advance to the 50-footer and a chance to win the giant prize.

While two players qualified for the giant-prize 50-foot putt, it was Boyce who aced the uphill shot, scoring the $10,000 cash prize!

The golf outing raised over $61,000 to support at-risk youth involved in the programs at Collier Youth Services, a social service agency whose mission is to provide at-risk youth a chance to grow toward their potential in an environment that promotes belonging, dignity and hope. This was the 28-year-old Boyce’s first putting contest win.
