Hughes qualified to take the 50-foot putt after he came closest to the hole during tournament play. Adding to the fun, one of the WSU play-by-play callers was a witness who not only called the shot, but captured the moment (and post-putt celebration) on his cellphone.

The WSU QB Classic is a college golf fundraiser that gives participants the chance to play with former Washington State QBs as well as network with CougsFirst! sponsors.

Pinch Putter Holes Shot in Shoot to Win Contest

PuttersAnd Signs

Port Huron, Mich. – Former baseball player and Detroit Tiger Milt Wilcox is certainly better known for his pitching than his putting. However, this June, during the Shawn Burr Foundation’s Shoot To Win putting contest, Wilcox holed an amazing 50-yard putt winning $20,000 paid for by Hole In One International.

Incorporating a putting contest that features an enticing prize is a wonderful way to generate additional sponsorship dollars and raise more funds during any golf event. And, when you purchase putting contest coverage from Hole In One International, you don’t have to worry if a “pinch putter” shows up and holes the shot, because we’ll be there to write the check.

Watch: Combination Putt leads to New Yorker’s Big Pay Day

Oswego, N.Y. – Talk about a winning combination … Howard “Howie” Page won $5,000 this September courtesy of Premier Living Suites (PSL), and paid for by Hole In One International.5K putting winner Howard page

Page won the cash prize after he sank a 10′, a 30′ and an impressive 50-foot putt on the practice putting green at the Stone Creek Golf Course during the State University of New York-Oswego’s (SUNY) Herb Hammond Golf Tournament.

The tournament was established over 30 years ago by Dick Johnson, one of the “founding forefathers” of the Blueline Club. According to SUNY-Oswego, the tournament, which is now named after a former Lakers Hockey coach is one of the university’s largest community and alumni events, hosting between 125 to 175 people annually.

“We are very fortunate to have had PSL sponsor the putting contest. It was absolutely amazing to see Howard win, and a great way to cap off the day,” explained men’s hockey assistant coach Jon Whitelaw.

Along with the $5,000 putting contest, the tournament also featured a $10,000 hole in one contest, sponsored by GS Steamers as well as a “beat the pro” and chipping contest.

While we see a lot of amazing tournament videos and “hype” packages, we believe this video captures every bit of the fun and excitement that goes along with running a great tournament. It also shows you how adding a putting contest or helicopter golf ball drop not only adds to the tournament experience, but can be an effective way of raising more money for your cause.

Kudos to former NFL Punter and Radio Sports Personality Tim McAfee for hosting what was surely an unforgettably fun day of golf.

Golf Putting Winner Takes Home $5K

Wishing you were watching Tiger Woods instead of Tiger King? Well, you’re in luck! Because we’ve got a can’t miss golf putting winner video for you!

Meier won the prize at half-time during the Northern Kentucky University men’s homecoming basketball game after he was randomly selected via a registration form, to participate in the Barleycorn’s $5,000 putting contest. He nailed the shot, sending the entire arena into a frenzy and landing the substantial cash prize.

“I have been watching the contestants over the last couple of years and many have gotten so close. The hardwood is so much faster than an actual green so everything has to be in perfect alignment to sink it,” noted Joe Heil, Barleycorn’s owner and longtime NKU Norse basketball sponsor. “This putt had the speed and the accuracy. It was thrilling to watch!”
