Golf Contests at the Toshiba Classic: Over $1,000,000 Insured!

golf contests at toshiba classicWe’re happy to announce that Hole In One International, as well as our sister company, Odds On Promotions, both teamed up to help insure a couple of fabulous golf contests at the Toshiba Classic this year! One on March 12, 2013 and the other which will occur on March 17, 2013.

You may remember last year, when our sister company insured the Shot From the Top during the Toshiba Classic, which was insured for $10,000. This time, they’ve upped the ante quite a bit… and insured two separate golf contests which were worth over $1,000,000 in cash and prizes, compliments of Hole In One International and Odds On Promotions.

The first golf contest was a Ball in the Circle promotion, which occurred on March 12, 2013.  The contest consisted of five teams. Each team contained one tour professional, one celebrity, and one media member. Each of them teed off from the 10th hole at the renown Newport Beach Country Club. If the golf ball came to a complete rest within the circle on the green, that player would have been awarded $50,000… compliments of Odds On Promotions! That’s five times the prize value of last year’s contest! And it gets even better…

A Million Dollar Shootout will also be held on March 17th, where two amateur golfers and one tour professional will have a chance to take a shot from the 185-yard hole #17 at Newport Beach Country Club for a chance to win $1,000,000, compliments of Hole In One International, should they end up acing the hole and making a hole in one! Needless to say, we can’t wait to see how that golf contest ends up playing out and we hope to be privileged enough to insure a golf contest at next year’s Toshiba Classic as well!

Golf contests can be insured anywhere, any place, any time and are not only a great way to increase excitement, but increase fundraising dollars as well. No matter what your specific goals happen to be, give Hole In One International a call at 800-827-2249 and we’ll help you find the golf contest that is best suited for your company/organization’s needs. Need more ideas which are not featured on Hole In One International’s website?  Check out Odds On’s golf promotions page and feel free to email us if you have any questions, or have your own unique idea for a golf contest! We look forward to hearing from you!

Fundraising Activities and Contests – pt 2.

Last week, we went over activities and contests to help you fundraise before your golf event.  This week it’s all about what can take place during and after your event!  Read on for more pointers!

During your event a great fundraiser to hold is a Par 3 Challenge.  Every golfer loves some good competition – not to mention the chance to show off, which is why this contest is so great.  Have one person bet their team $x that they can get their ball on the green with a single swing.  If they miss, that money will go to charity; if they make it, they can either get their money back, receive a discount at the pro shop… or both!  Another great idea is to have each team on the golf course purchase a Long Drive and have a local Long Drive champion there on the course with them.  Depending on who wins (the player or the ‘champ’), half of the money put into the contest will go to the victor, while the other half goes to charity!  Don’t you just love it when everyone’s a winner?

After your event is the ideal time to hold a Million Dollar Shootout.  Once again, charge players $x to get in on a raffle, draw a random name and have that person try and make a hole in one for a whopping $1,000,000!  After the event is also a great opportunity to hold a silent auction, which can be setup prior to the event.  Be sure to post up sign-up sheets for next year’s event and give players a discount off of the regular rate if they register on the spot… or an additional discount if they pay right there and then!

Looking for more contest ideas to help you fundraise at your next event?  Feel free to call us at 800-827-2249… or email us!  We’d be happy to help!

3 Key Requirements for a Successful Million Dollar Shootout

So you’ve already received the necessary paperwork for your Million Dollar Shootout quote, right? Excellent! Then you only have a few things left to worry about – the “3 key requirements!”

  • Be sure to make your payment prior to the date of your event. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are all accepted methods of payment. You can even write us a check, so long as it’s postmarked by the U.S. Post Office at least one day prior to the event. Please note that we will not accept any checks that are postmarked the day of the event or after.
  • Because of the high value of the prize, you will need to provide two (2) witnesses over the age of 21, not participating in the event, one of which is a certified PGA Professional. You will also need to provide a continuous, unedited video tape from behind the green of all shots taken.
  • The yardage of the hole must be measured from the hitting area on the tee box to the hole cut on the green. Be sure this figure is not lower than what you have written on your application and that it meets our minimum requirement of 135 yards.

If you’re unsure about any rules or regulations, shoot us an email or go ahead and give us a call at 800-827-2249. One of our Customer Service Representatives would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hole In One International Insures a Shot at Glory!

Phoenix, AZ – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hit a shot on the famed par-3, 16th hole at the TPC Scottsdale during the Waste Management Phoenix Open?

Two lucky golf fans (one of whom is pictured to the left), along with a host of local media personalities, Hollywood celebrities, community heroes and tournament sponsors got the chance to do exactly that a few weeks ago as they teed-it-up for charity in a unique closest-to-the-pin contest known as the “Shot at Glory”, which took place immediately following the FBR/Xerox Silver Pro-Am prior to the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
Tournament hosts, The Thunderbirds, award more than $100,000 to the celebrities’ chosen charities during this unique event. And, if any participant was lucky enough to make a hole-in-one, Hole In One International was there to pay $1,000,000 to the charity of the acemaker’s choice, thanks to Mark Hester of Hester, Heitel & Associates, Inc., who has turned to Hole In One International to insure this very special golf event for the past few years.
While no one aced Number 16 this year, musician Alice Cooper (pictured to right) won the “Shot at Glory”, picking up $40,000 for the Solid Rock Foundation. Brett Frazier from Waste Management, whose charity was Keep America Beautiful, came second, while former Phoenix police officer Jason Schechterle, whose charity is the 100 Club, came in third.
