Congratulations to Hole In One Insurance Winner Keith Tiemeyer!

Congratulations to Keith Tiemeyer of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, who made a hole-in-one during the Young Life Kentucky golf tournament on May 21st, 2012 at the University Club in Lexington!

Tiemeyer aced hole #17 on the golf course, which measured approximately 170 yards and scored himself a set of brand new irons, compliments of his lucky 5 iron… and of course, Hole In One International!  Although he did not win the insured Audi A4 which was out on the course that day, he still managed not to go empty-handed for his feat.

That’s because when you purchase hole in one insurance coverage through Hole In One International, we give your players a chance to win 1 of up to 4 auxiliary prizes, depending on how many par 3 holes 165+ yards are on the course.  If one of them are successfully aced, Hole In One International will pay them out a great prize, which is exactly how Tiemeyer received his!

Want to make one of your golf tournament participants a winner?  Give Hole In One International a call today at 800-827-2249 or email us for a free, no-obligation quote!  Our pricing starts out at only $150 and includes free tee signs and tee markers, auxiliary prizes as well as a free $50 gift card for each player to FreeTeePrize.com, just for participating!

Car Dealership and JDRF Insure Hole In One Contest

Looking to help attract participants to your next fundraising golf tournament?  Read on about this hole-in-one contest which was insured by a car dealership and held at a country club in California as a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  You’ll undoubtedly see why it was such a bit hit!

On the specified golf tournament date, 118 amateur players showed up to tee off for Juvenile Diabetes.  As an added incentive, a brand new car was out on the course that day.  If any of the 118 golfers were able to ace this particular 165-yard par 3, they’d be driving away in style that day… in a brand new $100,000 Maserati, compliments of Hole In One International!

That’s not all, either: thanks to Hole In One International’s hole in one insurance, complimentary signage adorned the course and players were given a chance to win auxiliary prizes as well, should they have aced any of the other non-target par 3 holes on the courses.  The prizes available were a $500 VISA Gift Card, Kindle Fire and a set of Cleveland® CG16 Black Pearl Irons!

“Offering a large grand prize at your golf tournament is a surefire way of boosting attendence and grasping the players’ interest”, explains Brent Kelly, Southwest Business Development Manager with Hole In One International’s sister company, Odds On Promotions, who happened to work with this specific dealership for this golf promotion.  “When players see that prize being advertised out on the course, they’re more apt to pay/donate to participate in the tournament.”

While, unfortunately, no one was able to ace the hole with the Maserati, a great time was still had by all and the money raised went toward a wonderful cause!

Are you ready to insure your next hole-in-one, putting contest and/or million dollar shoot-out with Hole In One International?  If so, call us today at 800-827-2249 for a free, no-obligation quote and more information… or email us and one of our experienced contest consultants will get in touch with you as soon as possible!  And if you’re interested in an off-course golf promotion, reach Odds On Promotions at 888-827-2249 or email them here!

Insuring A Hole In One In Mexico With Hole In One International

¿Vive usted en México? (Do you live in Mexico?)  Great news: you can still insure your next hole-in-one, million dollar shootout and/or putting contest through Hole In One International!  That’s because we provide insurance in any English or Spanish-speaking country!

Just be sure to properly advertise your prize value on your complimentary golf signage when you purchase your policy with us!  Since all of our prizes are paid out in USD, it’s important to make sure your ‘jugadores’ (players) know the exact amount they’ll be winning!  While you’re free to advertise your prize value in USD (e.g. “$10,000 USD”), you can also make it easier for everyone and advertise the same prize value in pesos (e.g. “127,274 MXN” -or- ”127,274 pesos”), so long as it’s an accurate conversion.

That’s right — all of our signs are able to be shipped to Mexico!  Just contact our shipping department for pricing details!

Have any other questions about holding a hole in one contest, putting contest, or million dollar shootout contest in Mexico?  Have questions about international shipping fees?  Feel free to give us a call at 800-827-2249 or send us an email.  We’d be happy to answer all of your questions!

¡Buena suerte!

Fundraising Activities and Contests – pt 2.

Last week, we went over activities and contests to help you fundraise before your golf event.  This week it’s all about what can take place during and after your event!  Read on for more pointers!

During your event a great fundraiser to hold is a Par 3 Challenge.  Every golfer loves some good competition – not to mention the chance to show off, which is why this contest is so great.  Have one person bet their team $x that they can get their ball on the green with a single swing.  If they miss, that money will go to charity; if they make it, they can either get their money back, receive a discount at the pro shop… or both!  Another great idea is to have each team on the golf course purchase a Long Drive and have a local Long Drive champion there on the course with them.  Depending on who wins (the player or the ‘champ’), half of the money put into the contest will go to the victor, while the other half goes to charity!  Don’t you just love it when everyone’s a winner?

After your event is the ideal time to hold a Million Dollar Shootout.  Once again, charge players $x to get in on a raffle, draw a random name and have that person try and make a hole in one for a whopping $1,000,000!  After the event is also a great opportunity to hold a silent auction, which can be setup prior to the event.  Be sure to post up sign-up sheets for next year’s event and give players a discount off of the regular rate if they register on the spot… or an additional discount if they pay right there and then!

Looking for more contest ideas to help you fundraise at your next event?  Feel free to call us at 800-827-2249… or email us!  We’d be happy to help!

Fundraising Activities and Contests

Golf season is finally here!  Looking to help fuel fun and raise funds at your upcoming event?  Then you’re going to love this post.

There are undoubtedly many objectives you’re looking to fulfill this year when it comes to your upcoming fundraising golf tournament.  Raising money for your cause will obviously be your #1 priority.  You’ll definitely want to offer value to your sponsors, attract new players to your organization (and get them to come back next time!), as well as increase overall revenue from players and sponsors alike.  But how do you go about achieving this?

We have one word for you: activities!

All kidding aside, it’s important to have both golf and other fun activities and contests spread throughout your event — before, during, and even, after.

Before your event, it’s a great idea to hold a raffle featuring donated prizes.  These prizes can be anything from free rounds of golf, vacation/travel packages to great golf destinations or even a colossal cash prize!  Just have everyone donate a few bucks to have their name put into the raffle.  It’s a simple, yet effective way of fundraising.  You can also sell a variety of logoed merchandise at the event!  From golf balls, clothing and even customized towels, you’ll be surprised as to just how many people will be interested in purchasing your goods — especially when it’s going to a good cause!  Still not convinced of the value these activities have?  How about holding a qualifying round for an insured putting contest where players can win up to $50,000!  After you’ve qualified your players, bring them back at the end of the event to take a shot (or rather, “putt”) at a great prize!  Feel free to charge your participants $x to enter the qualifier.  Facing time restraints?  Call upon your good friend ‘raffle’ to save the day and make the qualifying process a breeze!  Also, be sure you have any events/contests and sponsors adequately promoted with the help of golf contest signage.

Tune in again next Friday for  more activities and contests that you can run during and after your event!

Where To Place Sponsor Signage

With the contest signage Hole In One International provides as part of your insurance package, all signage must be placed at its designated hole on the golf course where the advertised prize is being given away, otherwise, it can become a liability.

But, when it comes to sponsor signs (seen here on the left) where you place them, is up to you!

That being said, when putting up sponsor signs at a golf outing, you’re obviously going to want to put them somewhere they will easily be seen.  We’ve asked avid golfer and General Manager with Hole In One International, Carlos Concha, where the best spots to place sponsor signs would be for maximum visibility and sponsor recognition.

According to Concha, “For those who plan on placing a sponsor sign at each hole out on the golf course, you’ll want to place them on the tee box – that way when the player approaches the tee from the cart, the sign is the first thing they’ll see.”

But we’re only purchasing one or two sponsor signs!  What then?

“In this case, you’d want to consider placing one —preferably a ” Sponsored By” sign – out on the first hole.  The registration table is another great location where people are bound to see the sign with your name and/or logo on it.”

Have any other questions about sponsor signs or need more ideas on what you can do to make the most of them and your golf tournament?  Feel free to send us an email or give us a call at 800-827-2249.

P.S. Selling sponsor signs is a great way to increase revenue at your tournament.

Reward Your Sponsors With Affordable Signage!

With most of Hole In One International’s golf contest insurance packages, you will receive free signage so long as the necessary paperwork is received at least 10 calendar days prior to the tournament date.

What’s more, we’ll incorporate your sponsor’s logos free of charge! All we need is an emailed file of the logo (.tiff, .gif and .eps formats preferred) and your sponsor(s) will be well on the way to recognition in no time!

In case you didn’t know, all of Hole In One International’s insurance packages include one customizable target sign that contains the prize description and sponsor’s name.  All contest signs are 30×30″ and have a printed area of 11×17″ – so just remember:  if you’re sticking with text only, less is more.  You don’t want the visibility to be too small.

If auxiliary signage applies to your package (tournament formats only), you’ll also receive pre-printed signs which announce your complimentary prizes. Stakes and tee markers are included with all signage free of charge.

You’ll also want to check out the sponsor signs that available for purchase on our website, or you can also contact us and we’ll send you an order form.

Our sponsor signs are 24×30″ with a printed area of 11×17″ and are in the shape of a golf ball.  They are made of heavy duty, weatherproof Coroplast… which means you’re able to re-use them and save yourself some money!

We have specific signs designed for closest to the pin, longest drive and straightest drive contests.  Not holding any contests and looking for signs that are a bit more generalized?  No worries – we have those too!  Logos can also be applied to these as well – just email them over!

Have any other questions about signage or logos?  Give us a call at 800-827-2249!
